GONZÁLEZ, ANTONI / LACUESTA, RAQUEL
Güell Palace (1885-1890) is one of the early works of Antoni Gaudí (1852-1926) and his first masterpiece.
Güell Place, one of Barcelona's most significant works of architecture since the Gothic period, represented a genuine milestone in European architecture, as it is the first building to have broken with the reigning academic classicism and to have moved away from de emerging neo-medievalism, to open up a new path of arquitectural expression that would eventually triumph in the continent.
